Standard Security Lock Plugs & Caps

Highfield’s Locking Plugs and Caps for water and gas lines have been engineered to permanently lock off open pipe ends, for service cleanouts, discontinued service and more.
When installed and locked in place, the hex head rotates freely to prevent unauthorized removal.
Our locking pipe plugs and caps are available in ½” to 2” NPT with male or female threads.
Pipe Plug/Cap Advantages & Operation
Standard security plug locks and caps are manufactured entirely from case hardened steel with corrosion resistant plating for a long service life, and compatible with the #4 barrel lock key.
Installing Lock Plug or Cap
- Thread plug or cap onto pipe or fitting & tighten with wrench
- Once secured, insert #4 key & push to disengage internal locking mechanism
- Lock plug/cap is now locked in place with freewheeling hex cap
Removing Lock Plug or Cap
- Insert #4 key & push firmly to seat until key fingers expand
- Pull back on key until you hear a click
- Continue to pull back on key while rotating hex cap in one direction, until internal locking mechanism engages
- Press button on key plunger to release
- Remove key
