FSC Cable Coating
Brand: NelsonNelson Firestop Fire Protective Cable Coating (FSC) is water based, intumescent, fire protective coating designed to enhance the fire resistance of electrical power, communications and control cables.
It is commonly applied to continuous cable runs to prevent the propagation of fire. It is designed for labor saving spray applications on cables.
Features- No cable de-rating.
- Water based, off white, acrylic latex means easy clean-up.
- Ii is intumescent.
- Elastomeric (flexible cure).
- It is paintable.
- Do not dilute.
- It is water resistant.
- It is dry to the touch, in 2 hours, and is completely dry within 24 to 48 hours.
- Supplied in a 19 liter (5 gallon) pail that is 0.75 cubic meters (1155 cubic inches), 4.49 kg (9.9 lb).
- The coating should be applied to a 1/8" wet thickness, which will dry to a 1/16" thick film. For optimal performance, the surfaces should be clean and free of dust, dirt, oil, grease, loose material, rust or other substances.
- When applying the coating via a spray method, it is best to use an airless spray unit, with the specifications found in the product data sheet.
