TK Trunnion-Mounted Ball Valve

Brand: Cameron

At the age of 22 in 1938, Henry Zarrow, the child of Russian immigrants, started his venture into the pipeline industry.

Not long after becoming successful with his first pipeline company, Sooner Pipe and Iron (later, Sooner Pipe & Supply), Zarrow started TK Valve in coordination with his father, brother, and an engineer named Terry Krause.

The burgeoning family business focused on the production of ball valves for the pipeline industry, and they soon started selling their valves to Shell Oil Co. from their location in New Orleans.

TK Valve expanded its application base in the 1960s to include Canada, Scotland, Nigeria and Singapore, branching out from the small location in New Orleans to meet the rising foreign demand.

TK Valve expanded domestically as well when it purchased 3.74 acres of land in Hammond, Louisiana, and built a 20,000-ft² [1,858-m²] manufacturing facility.

Today, the facility still stands and encompasses 84,000 ft² [7,804 m²] of manufacturing space.

In 1986, Sooner Pipe & Supply focused its attention on refining the design of the TK Valve line, improving the seat adaptor for ease of inspection and repair to reduce the downtime for its customers.

In 1992, the State of Louisiana awarded TK Valve the Lantern Award for its manufacturing excellence.

Becoming a leader in the trunnion mounted ball valve industry led to Dresser Industries’ acquisition of TK Valve in April 1993.

A little more than a decade later, Cameron recognized the reliability of the TK brand and added the Dresser Flow Control segment (including TK Valve) to its valve family, located in Houston.

Since then, Cameron was acquired by Schlumberger, which continues to sell TK valves for severe-service applications in the oil and gas industry for the onshore and offshore production, subsea, refining and industrial markets.

Since 1963, the TK trunnion-mounted ball valve has provided reliable block-and-bleed service for the oil and gas industry.

Known for its robust design, sealing areas, and stainless steel overlays, the TK ball valve is widely recognized as the leader in providing valve solutions for the oil and gas industries' most severe service applications.

Its design features allow Cameron to provide valves with unmatched durability, safety, and long-term performance.
