Y Series Self Closing Yard Hydrant

The Merrill Y1 & Y2 self-closing Frost Proof Yard Hydrants automatically shut off to keep wasted water to a minimum.

A stainless steel spring and water pressure shut the hydrant off when a user is not operating the hydrant, making the Y1 & Y2 perfect options for public use.

Both hydrants also have a locking feature to lock the hydrant in the on position if needed, and off for when it should not be used.

Both hydrants are also designed with swivel parts, allowing for the hydrant insides to be removed and/or replaced without having to dig the hydrant up.

The Y1 & Y2 are a great option for anyone looking to maintain control over water usage when others may be using the hydrant!

  • Extra Thick Walled Head Casting - Built for years of use and abuse
  • Flow Control Valve Available - Hydrant sold without flow control valve, but can be ordered separately. Allows for flow rate to be regulated
  • Cap Screws - Hydrants have 3/8" x 5/16" self-locking socket head cap screws, and assembled with a locking sealant for strong head to pipe hold
  • High Quality Galvanized Pipe - 1" extra heavy pipe on outside and galvanized pipe on inside for corrosion protection
  • No Exposed Threads - No exposed threads on inside or outside pipe to rust
  • Cast Iron Body with Stainless Steel Sleeve - Enhances the seal life of the plunger
  • Solid Brass Plunger - 3 ethylene propylene quad ring seals, self-lubricating and never come out of adjustment, and withstand higher pressures
  • Swivel Parts - Permit withdrawal of all moving parts without digging up hydrant. A 3/16" hex key will allow disassembly of hydrant by removing two cap screws and pull up inside pipe with plunger for inspection
