Decisive factors for the light intensity of a high-performance searchlight are the applied illuminant and the quality of the reflector. 

Optimal reflection performance and even 20% more light intensity are obtained with the WISKA parabolic mirror of glass. The 'A' searchlights are equipped with a reflector of high-gloss aluminium.

WISKA searchlights are suitable for all ocean-going and inland-waterway vessels - typical examples being merchant vessels, along with Defence, Costal Watch, Search & Rescue, Police, Customs and Fire fighting.

Halogen incandescent lamps are spotlights of temperature which emit up to 20% of the electric power absorbed by a Wolfram light wire as light:

  • Average life time of lamps between 75 hrs and 400 hrs

Halogen metal halide lamps stand out due to extraordinary light colour and optimal yield of light based on valuable metal additions in the discharge of gas:
  • Ideal for navigation in ice with separate power supply unit
  • Heating included
  • Constant light colour, high portion of blue colour, nearly daylight spectrum
  • Full luminous intensity after 45 sec., immediate reignition without cooling period
  • Average life time of lamps up to 750 hrs.
  • Range up to 4,000 m
Xenon lamps are stuffed with pure xenon. The discharge bow burns under extreme pressure reaching the highest luminous density among all lamps. The xenon lamps have a very long working life.
